Lives in his own world": Following the release of the new Rooh Afza video, Delhi HC raps Ramdev

Controversy Surrounds Digvijay Singh's Meeting with Expelled Congress Member Amid Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra

Former Madhya Pradesh Congress member Karan Morwal, who was expelled from the party over rape charges, sparked controversy after being spotted attending a meeting with former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh. Morwal, the son of former Badnagar Congress MLA Murli Morwal, was expelled by the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) in 2022 for a period of six years following rape charges filed against him.

The expulsion came after a woman lodged a rape complaint against Morwal in October 2021 at the women's police station in Indore. Police officials announced a reward of ₹25,000 for his arrest at the time. Despite the pending case and expulsion from the party, Morwal was seen attending a meeting with Digvijay Singh and other Congress leaders on March 6.

Morwal posted pictures of the meeting on social media, stating that Digvijay Singh had arrived in Badnagar to join Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. The yatra, aimed at uniting the nation and promoting justice, entered Madhya Pradesh on March 2 and reached Badnagar on March 6. Morwal's presence at the event raised eyebrows, especially considering his expulsion from the party over serious criminal charges.

This isn't the first time Morwal has been linked to the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. In January, he shared pictures from the yatra where he was seen alongside Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Jitu Patwari. Reports indicate that Morwal was arrested near Maksi town in Shajapur district in connection with the rape case registered against him in April 2021.

MPCC organization secretary Chandra Prabhash Shekhar, in the letter expelling Morwal from the Congress, stated that the party had conducted an inquiry into the allegations against him and found them to be prima facie true. However, the case is still pending in the court of law.

The meeting between Digvijay Singh and Morwal has reignited discussions surrounding the ethics and standards expected from political leaders, especially concerning their associations with individuals facing serious criminal charges. As the controversy unfolds, it raises questions about the party's stance on accountability and the principles of justice and integrity in political discourse.
